Landstar Promotes LaRose to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan 31, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Landstar System, Inc. (Nasdaq: LSTR), a safety-first non-asset-based provider of transportation capacity, announced today the promotion of Landstar Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary Bob LaRose to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary effective immediately.
LaRose, who joined Landstar in 1989 as Vice President of Finance and Controller, is responsible for safeguarding the Company's assets, and managing the entire financial and administrative operation for the $2 billion transportation capacity provider.

LaRose was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in 2001. He began his career in finance in 1977 at Arthur Young and is a certified public accountant. LaRose earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at New York University. He lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida with his wife Kathy and their two children.
