Landstar Appoints Jim Handoush President of Landstar Logistics, Inc.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Landstar System, Inc., (Nasdaq: LSTR) a safety-first non-asset based provider of transportation capacity, announced today that it has promoted Jim Handoush to the position of President of Landstar Logistics, Inc., its wholly-owned subsidiary. In his new position, Handoush will be responsible for the entire Landstar Logistics operation including its comprehensive intermodal, contract carriage, over-the- road, NVOCC and ocean freight forwarding services.

Handoush joined Landstar Logistics in 1996 as vice president of finance. In 2003, he was promoted to executive vice president of finance and administration. He replaces outgoing president James R. Hertwig who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

Handoush sits on the Board of the First Coast Roundtable, the local chapter of the Council of Logistics Management where he served as Treasurer and is an active member of the National Defense Transportation Association. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from San Jose State University in San Jose, California.

Handoush began his career in transportation in 1985 as a staff accountant at Consolidated Freightways and has held several positions at various transportation and logistics companies throughout the years. Prior to joining Landstar, he served as controller at Container Freight Transportation, a Con- Way Transportation Services subsidiary.

Handoush lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife Hanan and their five children.
