Joe Beacom
Joe Beacom serves as Vice President and Chief Safety & Operations Officer for Landstar. He is responsible for the company’s safety performance, operations and capacity development initiatives. Those areas of the organization include accident prevention, regulatory compliance, capacity sourcing and procurement, and operational support for Landstar’s agent network.
Mr. Beacom joined Landstar in 1993 and has held various management positions in support of the company’s efforts to develop capacity and provide operational support consistent with the organizations core values of safety, independence, quality service and opportunity. Prior to joining Landstar, Mr. Beacom served in various sales and operations positions in the less-than-truckload sector of the transportation industry.
Mr. Beacom has been a member of the United State Chamber of Commerce, National Security Task Force since 2003, the National Defense Transportation Association and remains involved in industry initiatives through participation in National Industrial Transportation League (NITL), Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) and the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA).
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Iowa State University. Mr. Beacom lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife, Amy. They have two grown children.
